Reply:If you're looking for unique american names, I'd steer clear of names like Madison, Sophia, and Brooke, (as much as I really love these names, some of my favourites!) because they're quite common both in the UK and USA.
Instead I'd go for names like (for a girl):
Peyton,
Dakota,
Daytona,
Addison,
Blair,
Serena/Selena,
Abbianne (pron ABBEY-ANNE),
Aurora,
Blaise (pron BLAYZE),
Amberlynn,
Piper,
Chantal,
Arielle,
Brielle,
Leighton (pron LAYTON),
Cadence/Kadence,
Madeley/Madelie,
Taryn,
Montana,
Nevaeh (pron NEV-AYY-AH),
Savannah,
Raven,
Latasha,
Kyana, (pron KEY-ARNA/KEY-ANNA),
or Tegan.
some of these names also have really pretty meanings, such as:
Tegan = pretty/fair
Nevaeh = heaven
Cadence = rhthym
you may have to be careful if you like american names, because many of them have been popularised by tv shows, and you don't want the first thing people to think of to be a tv character or show.
some stunning names for boys could be:
Blake,
Caleb (pron CAYLEB),
Kahlen (this could also be used for a girl),
Rory (this too could be used for a girl),
Chace/Chase,
Lucas,
Mason,
Spencer,
Aston,
and Wyatt.
these also have very masculine and strong meanings, like:
Wyatt: son of the greatest
Chace: hunter
Blake: traditionally dark (spelt differently, not quite sure how, Blake also can mean 'the tall blond one')
Rory: red king.
If you're looking for american names that aren't amazingly popular but are still fairly, then look at the likes of Sienna, Scarlett, Callie, Gabriella, Marissa, Saffron %26lt; for girls
Ryan, Nathan/Nathaniel, Jared, Elliot, Christopher, Alex %26lt; for boys.
I know some of those names may seem really popular, but honestly they're not, even though they're lovely!
Hope this helps
xx
