Baby Names?

My husband and I have narrowed down our baby names (we aren't pregnant yet, just planning ahead.

A. Girl:

1. Zelda Kaylynn

(Kay and Lynn are our mother's middle names)

or

2. Zelda Elizabeth

B. Boy:

1. Andrew Clifton (his first choice)

or

2. Quinn Douglas (my first choice)

Which of each are your favorites?

Baby Names?
This is an important decision and if you're mature enough to have a baby then you should be mature enough to name him!!!
Reply:Zelda Elizabeth/Andrew Clifton.
Reply:I think Kaylynn is beautiful and has great meaning behind it. I'm not crazy about the other names.
Reply:Zelda Kaylynn and Quinn Douglas
Reply:Zelda is just plain ugly!!! Kaylynn is very pretty, love Quinn Douglas
Reply:I'd wait to you see the baby! Certain children just suit certain names
Reply:What great names!

It's nice to honor your mothers, but since Zelda is an unusual first name, I'd suggest balancing it with Elizabeth.

I'd lean towards Quinn, if only because I dislike the nn Andy for a boy.
Reply:Zelda is wonderful. ;) I love seeing uncommon, but real, names used!

I don't generally go for trendy "Kaylynn," but given that it's a literal -- meaningful -- combination of both grandmothers' middle names, I think it's a nice gesture. Of course, not caring for the name itself, I'd be apt to try to honor them by using their FIRST names as the middle names, but I understand they may be difficult to work with. ;)

Barring that, I do like Elizabeth, and it would give her a more familiar, but still classic, option should she ever want one ... always nice!

Of the boy names, I definitely have to go with your choice of Quinn! I like both names, but Andrew seems a bit reserved next to Zelda ... especially assuming you want more than one child and might use the opposite-gender choice at a later time. Zelda and Quinn could easily be siblings, but Andrew seems sort of left out, know what I mean?

Hope that helps!
Reply:Zelda Kaylynn

and

Andrew Clifton

gooooood luck!
Reply:zelda kaylynn

and andrew clifton
Reply:for the girl I like the first one and for the boy I like his first choice!
Reply:Zelda Kaylynn

Andrew Clifton
Reply:I like Kaylynn Elizabeth best, Kaylynn is so pretty and special!

For a boy i like Andrew Clifton!
Reply:I'm not a huge fan of Zelda, personally. I adore the idea of using Kay and Lynn together, but I think that Kaylynn is awkward looking. Maybe Kalynn, Kaelin, Kaelynn, Kaylin, Kaylin, Kayelynn, Kayelinn, or Kaylen instead?

As a compromise for the boy's names, I like Quinn Andrew.
Reply:Zeida Elizabeth and Quinn Douglas.
Reply:I do not like the girls names but I do like Quinn Douglas.
Reply:Kaylynn Elizabeth has a better flow and doesn't quite sound like an old Nintendo game.

Andrew Quinn is very nice!

It's hard to find the "Perfect" name, but when the time comes and you see that little one's face, you'll know instantly what name suits him/her.

Good Luck!
Reply:zelda elizabeth %26amp; quinn douglas
Reply:I think Kaylynn and Elizabeth are both very lovely names. I am not too fond of Zelda, however. Is this a family name as well?

I love the name Andrew, but I don't think it flows well with Clifton. Therefore, I like Quinn Douglas better.
Reply:Why Zelda? People will assume she was named after the video game. With my name being Tabitha..it was assumed my whole life I could twinkle my nose, do magic and was named after Bewitched. Im just thinking a different name would be better for a girl. Kay Lynn for the first and middle sounds BEAUTIFUL and rolls right off the tongue.

Andrew Clifton rolls off the tongue as well.
Reply:Zelda Kaylynn

and of your two I would say Andrew Clifton

I would do Andrew Douglas
Reply:I really like the sound of Zelda Elizabeth, but I think that pay tribute to your mothers is sweet!

My middle name is Marlise Because my grammas were Margaret and Annalise. I always felt special as a kid and my grandmothers loved it! so my vote is for meaning over sound:

Zelda Kaylynn

As for the boy, why not compromise with something like Andrew Douglas, Quinn Clifton or Andrew Quinn? They all sound good to me. Of course, given that you are naming your daughter Zelda, a future brother named Quinn would go better. Why not call him Quintin and call him Quinn for short?

Quintin Andrew sounds really good, and I bet that your hubby would like Quintin better because it is more masculine. (is that his argument against Quinn!? It would be my husband's!)

Anyhow, good luck. I know that you will find the perfect names!
Reply:i like andrew clifton but im sorry i dont like zelda but its your choice
