Okay, so I'm an amateur writer and I always need names for my characters. I write books aimed to kids from seventh grade to eleventh grade, or 12-16. I know virtually every baby names website on the net and social security, except they have all these weird ultra-ethnic names that totally sound out of please in teen fiction. Does anyone have any good, normal names for boys and girls?

Reply:I'm not perfect at choosing the right names, but I'm a teen so that should help. Maybe something aimed towards the type of personality you're setting up for the character. Something unique always catches a teen's eyes, like how in Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer fused the grandparents' names to create Renesmee Carlie Cullen. Or, you could look up fan fiction sites like quizilla.com and fanfiction.net and get ideas from other teens that create stories and use their own interesting names.

Reply:For my age, 17, just a year older, a lot boys are named Michael, Justin, James, Anthony, Jonathan, and Brody, and oddly enough a lot of Levi.
For girls there are a lot of Ashley, Brooke, Jessica, Vanessa, Tiffany, and Rachel.
